“And I Ain’t Missing You At All”
I don’t think that anything I could say (write) could possibly describe how much I have been missing baseball. The first spring training game (for the Yankees) will be on March 3 and on air on YES and you have no idea how long I have been waiting for baseball to be on TV again. Even though I have a while before I can see any Dodgers games being able to see one team is a start. There is also an album on MLB.com from the Yankees workout yesterday and while it is wonderfully amazing that the first picture is of Phil Hughes there is also a picture of Joba talking to the catcher who he had been practicing with and if you ask me that catcher looks a lot like Jesus Montero☺.
In other underrated rated player news there is an article on Rossy on NYTimes.com I don’t know if it was actually in the paper since I am one of the many people contributing to the fall of the newpaper industry by reading it online but who cares its a whole article on Rossy ☺.
Okay so I would write more but I have screwed up something with the font and the more I try to adjust it the more annoying it gets.

p.p.s. Title is the lyrics to “Missing You” by Tyler Hilton (I know he didn’t sing the original but I like his version better)
p.p.p.s. Dont you just love the picture.
“You Make Me Smile Like the Sun…”
“…Fall out of bed, sing like bird
Dizzy in my head, spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday night
You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Ohh, you make me smile”
ESPN.com finally has pictures up of people other than Curtis Granderson. And this particular picture makes me VERY happy ♥.
Oh, how I have missed my Phil Hughes. I am going to try and stop smiling now since my cheeks are starting to hurt =D.

p.p.s. All the lyrics are from the song “Smile” by Uncle Kracker.

“When The Best Part of Me Was Always You”
**AHHHH**
Okay, I am glad I got that out. Now time for the stuff that calms me down and makes me happy, the rest of the world calls it Baseball. Everyone started reporting to spring training, except for me. I wish I was there. Maybe if I put on my red pumps and click my heels together three time I will magically end up in the Tampa at the Yankees camp. As much as I love the Dodgers I really have no desire to go to Arizona, I wish they were still in Florida. Plus when going to Florida while all the players are busy with the boring stuff like physicals, I can go to Disney World.
The only glitch in all of this spring talk is that there is still snow and a lot of it. While it looks beautiful and all I think that with the start of spring training, the snow should start to melt and it should slowly start getting warmer and actually feeling like spring.

p.p.s. The title is the lyrics to the song “Breakeven” by The Script they are an awesome band and you should def check them out =).
p.p.p.s. The picture is from the other day at spring training. The initials stick together for their workouts.
“Be Yourself is All That You Can Do”
So usually I don’t talk about the title of the post until the very end but this time it actually has a connection to baseball. It is the lyrics to the song “Be Yourself” by Audioslave which is the song that Shawn Green would come up to bat to when he was on the Mets. I miss him and would welcome him back to baseball, New York or otherwise, anytime
.
Next order of business the Winter Olympics start tonight and since there is no baseball until next week I guess I will watch that. I am not really fond of the winter Olympics because I am not really interested in any of the sports. I like figure skating, mostly because I used to. And of course I like curling because I think it is basically impossible for one to dislike curling. Feel free to disagree but you would be wrong.
Other than that I am really out of topics because we still have a little time before spring training. Hopefully the Yankees won’t get rid of anymore of my favorite players before the season begins. Or at all but we’ll take it one step at a time and go with before the season starts and then worry about them trading away the rest of the team later on.

“And What You Say Just Fades Away”
So to start a few things that I forgot yesterday:
1. They Yankees also traded away Brian Bruney and Phil Coke.
2. I am not happy with the above statement.
3. BTW I went to the game where the Yankees clinched the AL championship which was awesome and I forgot to mention it before.
On a happier note there is a wonderful article on Ross Ohlendorf on MLB.com and I always thought that he was underrated as a Yankee and I am glad that people now see how wonderful he is. Because he truly must be the perfect he is attractive, plays baseball and is incredibly smart and if he ever gets injured and is unable to play baseball he has a degree from Princeton to fall back on. I don’t know about everyone else but that sounds good to me =D.
Umpire Groupie Update:
One of the best parts about going to game 6 of the ALCS was that Laz Diaz was one of the Umpires. Now I understand that I was probably the only one in the stands at that just as excited about the umpires as the game but it is still exciting for me.
Now for all that non-baseball related stuff that I have yet to discuss. First off Gossip Girl and Glee are both on hiatus and have been for a while now and until a few weeks ago so was Greek and I have to say this off-season was probably the hardest one to handle yet because of this fact.
I also watched a whole football game for the first time in my life and let me just say I do not have the desire to do so ever again. I watched the Superbowl and was rooting for the Colts and since they lost and I didn’t understand the game anyway it was not an experience I enjoyed. Not that I would have enjoyed it anymore if they had won. Basically I have come to the conclusion that I do not like sports which involve grown men fighting over plastic objects. So that eliminates football, soccer, basketball, and hockey, I just don’t see the point to them.

p.p.p.p.s. Dodgers in 10—Yankees in 6
Let it Snow Let it Snow Let it Snow
Okay so I know it has been a while and I have missed a lot but life’s been a little crazy and is starting to settle down a little no so I am back.
First let’s go over what we missed:
-Yankees and Dodgers both made it to the post season =D
-Dodgers got eliminated in the NLCS
-Yankees beat the Phillies to become the World Series Champions once again ♥
-Johnny Damon, Melky, Matsui, and Jose are all not on the Yankees anymore
**BTW I am still very upset with the Yankees over the Melky trade**
-Dodgers have not done anything to piss me off this off-season they still have Chad, Andre, Russell and all my other favorites =D
-I turned 18 ♥
Onto the present, spring training starts up next week 7 days for the Yankees and 11 Days for the Dodgers. I wish I was going this year but I won’t be able to
. I can’t wait for them to start playing the spring training games on TV I love watching all the young players *cough cough* Jesus Montero *cough cough*.
That is all for now but since we are just in the middle of the snowpocalypse I will come back later and update on all the non-baseball news.
BTW b/c I can still not guarantee consistent updates here be sure to follow me on twitter cause I do update that a lot http://twitter.com/Aliegator65.
.peace.alie.
p.s. enjoy the snow =D
See You In October
WE DID IT!!!!!
Okay so we didn’t do it, but the Yankees did, and hey, they have the best fans in the world right? I hope that their luck continues into October and wish the whole team all the best.

“Make Me Wanna Spread My Arms And Fly”
Hey everyone, look at that two posts in less then 24 hours. This post is really quick I just wanted to update and everyone that I got a twitter if the link doesn’t work you can search for Aliegator65. The 65 is for Phil Hughes in case you didn’t get that.
The Dodgers lost yesterday
so they didn’t clinch but they have another chance today. Yesterday was a good day in Yankee land and hopefully that will continue today and tomorrow.
Umpire Groupie Update:
Let’s play guess the Welke. In the series this weekend the Welke brother’s, Tim and Bill, are umpiring and last night Tim was at HP and Bill was at 3B. This afternoon Jeff Kellogg will be behind the plate.

p.p.s. Title is the lyrics to “Chariot” by Gavin Degraw
“And I Don’t Have A Future Figured Out”
First things first I would just like to mention how much I am loving the show Glee. Seriously if you are not watching this show you should be, there is nothing like it on television and it is just amazing. As I write this post I am listening to their version of “Somebody to Love” and it is just one of the most amazing things that I have ever heard. Continuing to avoid the topic of baseball at the moment, I will continue with a TV update and then discuss a little baseball. Dancing with the Stars premiered this week and as a child of the 90s I am obligated to be a fan of Aaron Carter, but who I really like is Debi Mazar and only like 2/3 of that is because I LOVE her partner Maks (see picture slightly farther down). Now Greek and Gossip Girl are also still great but they have both been on for a few weeks now so I do not feel the same need to update on them.
Now that little thing that we call baseball. First, not quite baseball yet but completely related, this week on Jay Leno’s new show Jennifer Garner was on and he had her name the Red Sox line up and then took out a picture of Derek Jeter and , basically, said that she didn’t like and he was her least favorite. Now honestly I don’t care what she thinks and I have no real opinion on her or her life, but you see it shows the difference between Red Sox fans and Yankees fans. When it is a player who is in general such a stand up guy like Derek is you have to give him credit for that even though they are on the other team. Slightly different, my dad is a livelong Mets fan and always will be but he sees guys like Derek Jeter and Johnny Damon and he is able to realize that while they may be an opposing team they still are, or at least seem to be good guys. I will never be a Red Sox fan and have been a Yankee fan my whole life but if someone asks me about Terry Francona I can honestly tell them that I think he is one of the best managers in baseball.
All right so actual baseball now. If the Dodgers win tonight they clinch a playoff spot and well we all know what could happen by the end of the weekend but I that is all I am saying because I don’t want to jinx anything.
.peace.alie.

p.s. The title is the lyrics from the song “Taking Chances” the Glee Cast version of this is also AH-MAZING!!!
p.p.s. I don’t remember if I explained the number in the last post but it is a count down to my 18th birthday!!!
p.p.p.s. I am really hoping that my dad can get tickets to the post season and if he does I will see you there.
p.p.p.p.s. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my friend Ellen who turned 18 yesterday!!!
p.p.p.p.p.s. Since the post is already so long I thought that I would mention how long this post is.
“You Put On Quite A Show Really Had Me Going”
Okay so I know that it has been a while but going to college can throw a girl off her game. Anyways last night was not the best night for my teams since they both lost and all but this week had some pretty good news, well you could put it that way. The 2010 schedules came out this week and the Dodgers will be in NY in April and I already told my dad so that as soon as tickets are available he can get them. However the real news is that during inter-league play the Yankees and the Dodgers play each other. They play in California so I won’t actually be able to go to any of the games but I can already anticipate the amount of stress I will be under for those three days.
Umpire Groupie Update:
Laz Diaz is umpiring in the Yankees-Mariners series!!!
I don’t really have much else to say right now, but if I think of anything I will definitely come back. Also I think that everyone should remember to watch Gossip Girl, Greek, Glee, and Dancing with the Stars.
.peace.alie.

p.s. The title is the lyrics from “Take a Bow” which was originally sung by RIhanna but the Glee version is amazing!!
p.p.s. Another reason to watch Glee is because the character Tina is played by Jenna Ushkowitz, who I not only saw in Spring Awakening on Broadway, making her very talented but, she also had been on the Yankees on Deck show for a couple seasons.
