“Cause We Belong Together Now”

Those are lyrics to Kelly Clarkson’s song My Life Would Suck Without You.  An oh look at that the last time I posted is also the last time I listened to How Do You Sleep? by Jesse McCartney. Anyways, on to baseball and other important things about life.  First baseball, ONLY 5 DAYS UNTIL OPENING NIGHT!!!!!!!!  And the Yankees won earlier today and right now the Dodgers are …well…okay they are losing but it is only the second inning and its still spring training so really it doesn’t actually matter.  Now I know it has been a while and this may seem like old news but Cody Ransom will definately be playing for A-Rod and I really don’t care about the stats for this one because as far as I am concerned they are basically the same and I just like Angel Berroa better.  And to distract me from the fact that Joba has not gotten injured or crapped out yet so Phil Hughes can play I am just going to be happy that Melky is once again on the 25 man roster.

Anyway, onto that whole life thing, i say good then good/bad…  So good–I finished my english research paper!!!!!!!!!!YAY!!!!!!!!!!! So happy about that who knew a story with “Death” in the title could be so depressing.  And now the good/bad  so nezt week is spring break at my school and then there are only three weeks left of school =) and I am going to Boston for the weekend to visit one of the schools I got into.  So the good is that I love Boston the bad is that the stupid red sox fans are way hard to convert and way hard to deal with.

“It is the great American Tragedy”

Okay so maybe it isn’t really that dramatic but I am in the middle of writing a research paper on the play Death of a Salesman and that is one of the quotes am I using and it seemed to fit here.  Anyways team USA did not make it to the finals so now it is time for everyone to go back to camp (I wish) maybe next time though.  Right now I am watching the Rockies play the Brewers which is kind of amusing Sal Fasano hit a HR and now so did Todd Helton.  Other than that I did not have much to say and I should go back to working on my research so maybe I will come back later.

Almost There

Team USA is going to round three!!!  While I admit that I did not actually watch the game (DWTS beats out WBC) i do know that David Wright hit a walk single, YAY hot players from NY.  Now I know that at round 3/semi-finals start at nine tonight I have to admit that I have not been paying much attention to baseball this week.  I have however been watching the show Greek.  I had not watched it before and saw all the previews for the mid-season premiere a week from monday night and I am now obsessed.

Anyway I don’t what else to mention so…oh the post name is because the season starts on like soon and school is almost over because then at my school we have something called senior options which is like a senior project.

OHH and I GOT INTO COLLEGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Round 3???

I hope we get there.  Team USA lost their first game in round 2 of the WBC but they won the second game vs. the Netherlands 9-3 and now if they win the next game the will continue to round 3…YAY!!!!  Tomorrow they will play the loser of the Puerto Rico–Venezuela game.

Okay in other random news the Yankees beat the Phillies 12-0 today and the Dodgers are still playing but are tied right now 2-2.

Now Manny is out for at least a week with a hamstring injury, which if you follow the pattern of older free agents who then sign a last minute short term deal, he will most likely be out for well longer then a week.  Also according to MLB.com Pudge will probably sign with the Astros however if their GM would have a little conversation with me I would change that.  Why would anyone want to sign that past his prime crap of a catcher i don’t understand.

Also I know that whole posting thing took a little break but hey this only took less then a week rather then the like 8 months I took off last time.

The Netherlands???

I had no idea that people in the Netherlands even played baseball let alone could get to round 2 of the WBC.  They beat a Puerto Rican team full of MLB all stars.  Apparently Sidney Ponson is better than I thought.  Other than that I don’t have much to say today.  Team USA plays tonight against Venezuela to see who gets first place.  Oh and A-Rod had his surgery yesterday and will need another sugery after the season ends.  If I am not to lazy later I will add the usual links.

Round 2 Here We Come

YAY!!!! Team USA is going to round to in the WBC.  They beat Venezuela yesterday 15-6 with an amazing 6th inning that seemed to go forever.  They batted around with David Wright making 2 of the 3 outs in the inning and Kevin Youkilis hit a 2 run HR in his second at bat in the inning.  The announcers (who rival the regular sunday night baseball announcers as the worst in history) mentioned at one point in the inning that the Venezuela pitchers had thrown 55 pitches in the inning so far.  Anyway crazy game.  So now team USA does not play again until Wednesday night.

I realized that since I had started posting again I had not mentioned that over the off season Scotty had signed with the Florida Marlins.  Now this does not mean that I am now a Marlins fan I am still a Yankee fan and a Dodger fan.  Also since spring training began he has had some soreness in his throwing elbow and is currently out indefinetly.  As much as I like Joe Torre I do have to blame him a bit since he over used Scotty as much as he could without have his arm literally fall off.

WBC Update

Wow another day with two posts in one day.  Just thought I would give a quick update.  Here is the starting line up for team USA:

Jimmy Rollins-SS-Philadelphia Phillies
Dustin Pedroia-2B-Boston Red Sox
Chipper Jones-3B-Atlanta Braves
Kevin Youkilis-1B- Boston Red Sox
David Wright-DH-New York Mets
Adam Dunn-RF-Washington Nationals
Mark DeRosa-LF-Cleveland Indians
Cris Iannetta-C-Colorado Rockies
Curtis Granderson-CF-Detroit Tigers

No Derek but that is okay because yesterday he started and then brought in Rollins later so today hopefully they will do the same thing with Derek.

Right now the score is 0-0 in the 2nd inning.

“Baseball is Spoken Here”

That is the slogan for the WBC and I just thought I would mentions a few notes about whats going on today keeping up that whole posting thing.  Right now I am watching Cuba playing the Republic of South Africa and Cuba is winning 8-0 in the 7th.  Team USA will be playing Venezuela tonight at 8pm (est) and whoever wins that automatically qualifies for round 2 (so go USA even though Bobby is on the Venezuela team).

In other news according to the line that continuously scrolls across the bottom of MLB Network A-Rod has decided to have some sort of less invasive surgery that would only require 6-9 weeks of rehab to repair the tear in his hip.  Now I personally think that while A-Rod is unable to play they should have Angel Berroa (on the Dodgers last season) however he is currently a non-roster invitee.  I perfer him to Cody Ransom but since Ransom is actually on the team he is much more likely to be covering for A-Rod.

Now completely unrelated to the actual game the Mets have a new player who may be giving Jesus Montero a run for the title of my favorite player who is actually not to old.  Montero played with the Yankees single A affiliate the Charleston River Dogs last season and I saw him play when I went to spring training last year.  He is also only 19 years old and he is a catcher. The Mets player is not listed on the Mets site however he played shortstop yesterday he is nimber 88 and is only 17 years old (the best age, at least for the next 8 months and 2 days).

Just a Few Questions

Alright so sitting here watching the Panama vs. Puerto Rico and we have come up with the following questions that we would like some answers to:

1…How do you get to be in the World Baseball Classic is it like the country says to whoever is in charged hey we would like to put together a team or is it like the people in charge ask each country if they would like to put together a team???

2…What do you call a person from Panama???

3…What is the best record in MLB history the best I can think of is the Yankees 1998 season when they had a 114-48 (INSANE!!!) record???

Hey look at that two posts in one day CrAzY!!

And Exhale

Well that is the feeling of the USA World Baseball Classic team right now after one hell of a game.  Now I know it has been a while and I know I have said many times that I will post more than I do but I should actually be able to since it is now second semester of senior year.  My sister and I have been watching the America-Canada game in the WBC and the U.S. just came through with one of the most dramatic wins that could only come courtesy of a member of the Mets bullpen.  With a 6-4 U.S. lead in the start of the 9th J.J. Putz managed to give up one run and leave a runner on second base while Jason Bay (on team Canada) managed keep his a bat going for what seemed like forever.  But it is all good since they did win 6-5 and at the end of the game all the players looked like were so relieved (hence the title).  In other news Russell Martin hit a homerun for team Canada (YAY!!!) and he also changed the name on the back of his jersy for this season so it now says J.Martin for his mother’s maiden name.

In other unrealated to the WBC news with all the signings the Yankes have made over the off season I have renamed the Yankees starting rotation to the following:

C.C.–C.C. Sabathia
A.J.–A.J. Burnett
C.M.–Chien Ming Wang
J.B.–Joba Chamberlain (sadly he will most likely be in the starting rotation)
A.D.–Andy Pettite
P.H.–Phil Hughes (because he will be in the starting rotation when Joba fails miserably and ends up back in the bullpen or the minors)

So that is all for now but this time I will be back since I stopped doing work months ago and should now have time to update.
